Angles around a point

Angles all the way round a point make a full turn, 360°. Add the angles you know and take the total away from 360. A small square in a corner means a right angle, 90°, even though no number is written. The diagram is not drawn to scale, so use the numbers. Equal angles marked with the same letter share what is left.

Sample questions

The angles meet at a point. Find the angle marked with a question mark. The diagram is not drawn to scale.

?65°Not drawn to scale
  1. Angles around a point add up to 360°.
  2. 360 − 65 = 295, so the missing angle is 295°.

Answer: 295

The angles meet at a point. Find the angle marked with a question mark. The diagram is not drawn to scale.

?55°Not drawn to scale
  1. Angles around a point add up to 360°.
  2. 360 − 55 = 305, so the missing angle is 305°.

Answer: 305

The angles meet at a point. Find the angle marked with a question mark. The diagram is not drawn to scale.

?135°Not drawn to scale
  1. Angles around a point add up to 360°.
  2. 360 − 135 = 225, so the missing angle is 225°.

Answer: 225
